Synch

"Get On My Level" is a song I co-wrote, produced and mixed with a dope Dominican artist Joelii. We wanted to create something fun with a ton of energy. I meticulously handcrafted all the synth sounds to sound futuristic and interesting, and made sure the percussion really pushed the song. Joelii spit rapid fire Spanish verses that took the whole thing over the edge. We had a blast making it and I think it really comes through in the music. Apple, Beats By Dre, and Leo Messi must've thought so too since they used for their new ad campaign welcoming him into the Beats family. Some good company to be in!

“Ultraviolet Techno” is a song that I co-produced and mixed with the talented ladies of Joyeur. They started on an idea passed it off to me and we had it finished in a day. Sometimes the best ideas come quick! Glad to see it found a home in “The Come Up” on Freeform!

“Life Is Good” is a song I wrote and produced under the project Little Brothr. It’s about being with the right person at the right time. It’s about riding the up’s and down’s and appreciating what each day has to offer. Life isn’t always perfect, but having that someone special makes it all worth it.

“Portal” was a fun one. I originally scored it for an XBOX commercial, but loved it so much that I decided to make it into a full song. It has everything you need for a good time - chopped vocals, dubby sounds and a grooving beat. It was a perfect backdrop for the Veronica Mars party scene.

“Light Em Up” is a song I wrote with Chris Rizzo for our project II KINGS. I had just got done reading “Empire Of The Summer Moon” and “The Heart Of Everything That Is” - two amazing books on the Comanches and Oglala Lakota Native American Tribes. I was so inspired and the beat was so big and bombastic, it just felt like the right fit. Apparently is was also the right fit for the Season 3 opening of Charmed!

“Dust & Bone” was written with the talented Syd Duran and Drew Lerdal. Syd comes from the rock world, and is the lead singer of the band Valora. She has a powerhouse of a voice. We wanted something big, and ground-shaking. We wanted the women in the story to be the strong one; the one you fear. Guess it struck a chord!

“Never Gonna Give Up” was written when I was going through a lull. The music industry can be a wild roller coaster, and it was kind of a pep talk to myself. At first I thought it was a little too trite and obvious, but the more I sat with it the more I understood what it needed to be - simple, honest, and to the point.

“Brand New Start” came about after 3 big life changes. I had recently broken up with a longtime girlfriend, quit my job, and moved into a new apartment. It was scary at first, but after some good fortune and a little luck things started to look up. I took a walk to get a burrito and when I got back the song just flowed out naturally.

“Don’t Take My Summer Away” was initially written for DNCE, but after that fell through it ended up finding a good home in the movie WISH UPON as well as on the official soundtrack. It’s a pretty straight forward story about a summer fling - so fun while it lasts, you never want it to end.
